After noon run on a hot humid day. Shorebirds are starting to come in in good 
numbers every trip down here. Ran into QB Gray who said the MS Kites and a 
Peregrine were keeping the wind birds a little edgy and a lot had flown off 
from earlier in the day.

Least Sandpiper  500     Sandbar to the north side of the lake was full of 
birds mostly all Least Sandpipers hard to determine other small peeps due to 
distance and heat waves.
Pectoral Sandpiper  33     These guys stood out from the rest of the crowd.

Ensley Bottoms, Maxson Wastewater Lagoons(The Pits)/Earth Complex, Shelby, US-TN

Comments:     Drove all around the Pits. High water in the center pits being 
where the ducks and geese are hanging out all summer. Far North Eastern center 
pit with the dead trees was holding a good number of shorebirds and starlings 
feeding in the damp muck. some more birds down on pit #4 and Pit# 5 but not in 
great numbers.
23 species
Black-bellied Whistling-Duck  61     five seperate broods of young in various 
ages, totaling 30 ducklings.
Greater White-fronted Goose  2     Same two Geese all summer long, one still 
w/bad wing. Mate hanging in there and won't leave
Canada Goose  10
Wood Duck  2
Mallard  10
Canvasback  1     Same bird sitting with the Black-bellies for the last several 
weeks.
Northern Bobwhite  2     Calling
Black Vulture  1
Turkey Vulture  2
Mississippi Kite  4
Killdeer  233     Scores were scattered everywhere.
Spotted Sandpiper  3
Solitary Sandpiper  1
Stilt Sandpiper  1     Interesting coloration hope picts come out.
Least Sandpiper  395     Scattered all over.
Pectoral Sandpiper  323     Good numbers still scattered with Leasts.
Semipalmated Sandpiper  22

Northern Mockingbird  3
European Starling  750     Easily 750+ feeding and bathing.
House Finch  8     At the maintenance yard fence line.
House Sparrow  6     Maint shed area.
