I birded Cove Lake State Park in Campbell County this morning and was near the end of my walk when I stopped to listen to a distant Wood Thrush and a Swainson's Warbler began singing loudly and clearly. The warbler sang for 2 or 3 minutes and then fell silent when a couple walked past (don't know if that's why he stopped or not but he didn't start up again). Of course, I didn't manage to see the warbler but his song was unmistakable. This was in the same general area where they have been found in the past.... I had walked a short distance into the woods from the left entrance, had taken the second short dirt crossover to the other side of the loop and had barely started walking back toward the parking lot (just a few steps really) when I stopped and heard the Swainson's Warbler. The time was 11:45 a.m. Carole Gobert, Knoxville, TN
