Duck River Unit Tn. NWR Humphreys County This afternoon I watched 78 Snow Geese, on a mud flat in Duck River, trying to rest. Their closest neighbors, an ever changing number of Am. White Pelicans, disturbed the geese everytime one of them arrived or departed. The geese would become airborne, circle a bit and then land in their original location. Waterfowl numbers are about the same as my last visit on the 9th. Twelve species, highlighted by a group of 80 Hooded Mergansers, the males were displaying. Bald Eagle totals are up, at least ten, mostly juveniles. I did have three mature adults in my scope at the same time. An interesting, warm Nov. day. Gary Casey Kingston Springs, Tn. Talk and walk softly, carry a big scope. =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
