Duck River Unit
Tn. NWR
Humphreys County

This afternoon I watched 78 Snow Geese, on a mud flat in
Duck River, trying to rest. Their closest neighbors, an
ever changing number of Am. White Pelicans, disturbed the
geese everytime one of them arrived or departed. The geese
would become airborne, circle a bit and then land in their
original location.

Waterfowl numbers are about the same as my last visit on the
9th. Twelve species, highlighted by a group of 80 Hooded
Mergansers, the males were displaying.

Bald Eagle totals are up, at least ten, mostly juveniles. I
did have three mature adults in my scope at the same time.

An interesting, warm Nov. day.

Talk and walk softly, carry a big
scope.
