Two goodies on my morning walk around our place in western Lewis County this morning (11/19/2011). First was a close range teeny little adult male (taiga) Merlin. He gave me a pretty close fly-by in response to knuckle-sucking squeaks and perched for nice looks.
Then mixed in with the Canada Geese was a single Snow Goose. I was cheering hard for the lone white goose adage to make a Ross's out of it, but alas no dice. Still a very nice and unexpected addition to the yard list, and only my second record for Lewis County.
