I had a very productive morning here on the homestead. I tallied 43 species
over 4 hours including a Red-eyed Vireo (YARD BIRD #110) and a Philadelphia
Vireo (YARD BIRD #111). The real highlight of my morning (and year!) was a
large group of migrating Broad-Winged Hawks. I counted 357 hawks in two groups,
but almost assuredly missed a few. Especially considering our yard's first
Philadelphia Vireo dropped into a tree above my head as I was counting hawks
and I spent a few moments identifying and photographing it. The whole ordeal
lasted only 5 minutes or so, but was a sight to behold! Here's a link to the
