This morning while scouting a Sora Spot -pun intended, unfortunately- I
walked up on one at Shelby Farms. It was about 10 feet away with it's
head sticking out of one side of a bunch of reeds and its tail out the
other. Fortunately if walked around a bit, so that heavy yellow bill and
black throat were easily seen. This is an early date for Shelby County.
Many Tree Swallows and Martins plus 2 Rough-wings were feeding over lots
of ducks in fish ponds. A great morning!
