Boyd Sharp and I headed to Spring City , TN this AM to meet Joel Keebler and Susan Schott for a morning of birding on the Cumberland Plateau. Near Rockwood, TN, Boyd and I saw a "v" formation overhead. We first thought it might be Sandhill Cranes, but after a closer inspection found it to be Double-crested Cormorants; about 126 birds. Later in the morning, up on the Cumberland Plateau, we saw a coyote hobbling through a cleared field. His right front leg had some sort of injury. Overall, the birding was fairly slow, even though we did have good looks at yellow throated warbler, louisiana waterthrush, Black throated Green, and Black and White. We had 55 species for the day.
