Stewart Co, TN
Decided to explorer part of Stewart county where I don’t normally bird today
and had a couple notable finds. I was at a boat ramp at the end of River Rd (or
Old River Rd) off Bumpus Mills Rd, which is just off Hwy 79. There was a large
concentration of American White Pelicans that just kept streaming into the area
which I estimated to be at least 1500 birds easy. I also had 50-75 Tree
Swallows at the same spot and an unknown Petrochelidon swallow (Cliff or Cave).
I only saw the bird once briefly in the mix but it did have a dark back and
buffy colored rump, I couldn’t get a good look at its head and never relocated
it. Picked up a Bald Eagle and 3 Greater Yellowlegs too. Coordinates for the
location are 36.5256 , -87.8671
