I'm passing this on for Jeff because he is not on tn-bird. Jan Shaw Nashville, TN Don't know if anyone else has reported this as I have been busy and not birding much lately, but I observed a swallow-tailed kite on the Tennessee River at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday at the Tennessee River bridge on Route 30 just east of Dayton, Tennessee. I got a long look and two flyovers, one within about 60 feet over my head. I am very sure about this one. The upper wings had the two-tone charcoal gray and the smudgy eye-stripe was quite visible. Anyway, if already reported, that is great. If not, the bridge is easily located. Thanks.
