15 willets in Pool 4 with scattered groups of shorebirds throughout
flooding fields. Most common were lesser and greater yellowlegs, least
sandpipers, solitary sandpipers, and spotted sandpipers. Two attempts to
locate the gallinule came up empty. All of the concrete spillways on
Refuge Lane were about to be overtopped by 12:30 PM. The long route Terry
took to see the gallinule also has water over all of those spillways. A
kayak would make for a great birding tool in the bottoms!
