Cocke county, 3/27/08, by canoe, 12:30- 4:00 PM Douglas Lake elevation: 972.5 ft. We launched at Walters Bridge and disembarked on a grassy flat half way back to the Leadvale ramp. A long inlet between the flat and the shore provides an excellent refuge for waterbirds - no nearby roads and too shallow for most boats. >>>We spotted 2 more active osprey nests (one on Walters Bridge, another on a Dutch Bottoms silo), for a total of 8 in the general area.
