Monday, November 10, The Meetup group "Knoxville Greenway Walkers" took the
Third Creek Greenway to Neyland Drive from Tyson Park, then the Neyland
Drive Greenway to First Creek and return.

Birds seen:
Great Blue Heron (2)
Black-Crowned Night Heron (1)
Kingfisher (2)
Pie-Billed Grebe (1)
3 un-ID'd small dark ducks flying upriver

The piece de resistance (I know it's not a bird, but...) was two RIVER
OTTERS swimming and playing together in the lower reaches of Third Creek.
All the while, runners, walkers and bicyclists were using the greenway, and
on the other side of the creek, the train yard was switching cars. We
watched them for about ten minutes. If you are not familiar with this area,
this is all the more amazing, since Third Creek has been for a long time
the "poster child" for polluted creeks.
