Today, seen and heard in around my yard near the intersection of Highland View Dr.. and Andrew Jackson Pkwy. in Hermitage, TN, (unless otherwise noted) were the following species: Killdeer 1 Mourning Dove 1 Common Nighthawk 4- At intersection of Due West & Gallatin Rd Chimney Swift 3- Due West & Gallatin Rd. Eastern Kingbird 1 Blue Jay 1 Barn Swallow 1 Carolina Wren 2 American Robin 5- Two Immatures Northern Mockingbird 1 European Starling 5 Song Sparrow 1 Northern Cardinal 3 Red-winged Blackbird 1- Near Hermitage Memorial Gardens Common Grackle 6 Brown-headed Cowbird 2 House Sparrow 10 Number of Species: 17 Also noted and photographed in a large rock pile at the intersection of Shutes Branch and Old Hickory Blvd. also in Hermitage, TN, was a very large Groundhog. It is out there every day around 5:00 PM. Good Birding!
