Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co., TN Thursday, 2014 September 12 7-9:30am heavy overcast Stopped by Radnor Lake this Thursday morning before heading to work. Skies were still heavily overcast so lighting was not very good. I briefly walked from the west parking lot to Long Bridge and then retraced my steps. The dam area proved to have the best birding with a nice mixed flock of warblers and vireos. Highlights were a slightly early PALM WARBLER, a GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER, a male WILSON'S WARBLER, a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, plus a WARBLING VIREO and a BALTIMORE ORIOLE. A lone COMMON NIGHTHAWK briefly swooped low over the dam. In all I found 10 warbler species and 43 total species.
