Yesterday I was startled to see a Black-crowned Night Heron hunting in Richland Creek, right in the heart of Belle Meade (Nashville), Davidson County. Today I was even more startled to see a Yellow-crowned Night Heron hunting in that same Richland Creek, further downstream. This bird was in the creek under the trees in the newly created England Park in West Nashville. I saw Y-c Night Herons all the time when I lived in Florida, but this is the first one I've seen in Nashville.
