TN Birders: The IT people at the university have updated most of my webpage, including all the birding content: http://www.mtsu.edu/~kbreault. Thus, "TN Birders by the Numbers" has now been updated to include all the annual issues since 2007. All of the trip reports involving my recent large trips are also now available (covering 23 states/provinces): "Northeastern Trip 2008," including CT, MA, ME, NH, RI & VT; "Canada Trip 2010," mainly MB & SK, but also IA, MO, MT & ND; "Maritime Canada Trip 2012," mainly NB, NS & PE but also QC; and, " Mountain Trip 2013," mainly ID, MT, NV, UT & WY, but also IL, IN & KY. There is now more content on the "Competitive Birding" page, including new statistics as of July 1, 2013: All-time Total Ticks, which includes the top 20 all-time total tickers (all who reported total ticks and year of last reporting), and the current (July 1, 2013) total ticks list. The webpage also includes, "For Beginners," which was recently sent to TN Birds in June. Finally, there are new photos taken from my recent Mountain Trip, including a picture of a male Dusky Grouse at the top of Signal Mountain in Grand Teton National Park. And, speaking of photographs my wife and I are giving ourselves an anniversary (25 yr) gift of a camera. In the past I have used inexpensive "instant" cameras so we want an "adult" camera, and I'm interested in any recommendations birders may have. We want a good quality camera that is easy to use and has telephoto capability for birding. Long ago my birding mentor had a 800mm telephoto lens that worked well, but I just don't know what birding photographers recommend these days. Let me know. Finally, a belated thanks to Clayton Ferrell for the spoonbill, a good bird for me, only seen in three previous states. Kevin Breault Brentwood, TN
