Walter S. Davis Blvd Marsh Nashville Davidson Co., TN 2012 April 5 7:20-7:40am Stopped by the Walter S. Davis Blvd. Marsh again this Thursday morning. All the same shorebird species were still there. I counted 8 WILSON'S SNIPE, 6 PECTORAL, 2 SOLITARY SANDPIPERs, and 4 KILLDEER. The COMMON GOLDENEYE was also still there this morning, although it got up and flew around briefly before returning to the lake area of the marsh. New birds for the year were a GREEN HERON and an AMERICAN BITTERN. The latter was found in a last scan of the area just before I was about to leave to go to work. It came out for several minutes into open water to the left of the large telephone pole in the marsh. Then it went back into the reeds, and I lost it. I tried walking along Walter S. Davis Blvd to see if a different perspective might result in another sighting of it, but could not find it again.
