Blount Co.

At my house in Alcoa

Sept 15, 2014, yesterday evening, I had 34 species along the creek to the
cattail marsh, including a striking Yellow-bellied Flycatcher. Warblers
included Blue-winged Warbler 1, Tennessee Warbler 1, Common Yellowthroat
2, Hooded Warbler 1, and Prairie Warbler 1.

Sept 16, 2014

This morning everything had changed. Flycatchers included Eastern Wood-Pewee
2, Acadian Flycatcher 1, calling, Willow Flycatcher 1, singing, Least
Flycatcher 1 seen at same time as Acadian, but between 3-4' off the ground
in ragweed, Eastern Phoebe 2, and Eastern Kingbird 1. The Kingbird was
being chased around by a feisty gnatcatcher! Warblers included Northern
Waterthrush 3, Tennessee Warbler 1, Common Yellowthroat 4, Hooded Warbler
1, American Redstart 7, Magnolia Warbler 6, and Chestnut-sided Warbler 1.
Other notables were Sora 2, first of the fall, responding to my whinnying,
and one Warbling Vireo. Total 46 species.

It's time to get out birding.
