Walked around my Kirby Woods neighborhood this morning between 7 and 9 am. Saw
and heard 10+ Yellow-rumped Warblers, 2 Black-throated Green and 1 Northern
Parula this morning. Have seen a few of each for the past two mornings also.
Also this morning my FOS White-eyed Vireo. There were so many Cedar Waxwings
in the tops of the trees that it was particularly difficult to sight the
warblers and harder than usual to nail the vocals with complete confidence. 26
species posted to eBird for my 2-hour walk, mostly the usual neighborhood
suspects, but no raptors at all today.
Returned last Sunday from International travel, so completely self-isolating
including wearing a face covering while walking and crossing to the opposite
side of the street whenever I see a pedestrian approaching. You cannot be too
careful.
