We have regularly walked/birded at Fletcher Park in Cleveland,
TN for the past year with modest results. It is one of the
?birdiest? looking places (Candies Creek winds around the
perimeter, fields, woods, brush) to not have very many birds.
Cooler weather on Sunday morning 8/15 brought a nice change of
pace?

Highlights of birds seen (28 total species):

Black & White warbler (male & female)
Black-throated green warbler (female)
American Redstart (beautifully colored male)
Magnolia warbler
Winter wren
Great Crested-Flycatcher (4 separate sightings)
Red-eyed vireo (2)
White-eyed vireo (3 together w/ one having a few downy feathers
still on it)
Eastern Wood Peewee
Eastern Phoebe
Ruby-throated hummingbird
Lots of regularly seen birds: Blue-gray gnatcatchers, Indigo
buntings, Eastern bluebirds, Barn swallows.

Also, possible Blue-winged warbler sighting (in brush along
creek, Leigh saw briefly, but wasn?t able to confirm).

A Sat. 8/15 visit to Brainerd Levee, Chattanooga highlight was a
male & female Blue Grosbeak under the Brainerd Rd. bridge (an
elusive bird for us this year). 23 bird species seen there w/ 22
seen at Standifer Gap marsh on the same day.

The brown-headed nuthatches returned to our yard & feeders this
weekend. And we still have 4-5 Ruby-throated hummers flying in
a kamikaze manner (often ramming each other) around our 2
feeders.
