If you “think” you heard a Cerulean I’m sure you did! I bet you’ve listened to
100s of Parulas - you know you heard a Cerulean our you wouldn’t have been so
bold as to send out this email!
Interestingly, the bird I saw and heard mumble - literally he mumbled - on the
11th hasn’t sung again if he stuck around. The deck of our place on Center Hill
Lake in DeKalb Co. is literally in the middle of a Cerulean Warbler territory,
so by rights this would be HIS place on Center Hill Lake! If he is still here
he may just have nothing to sing about since it’s been so cold!

While hiking the Warner Woods Trail, I heard what sounded like a Cerulean
Warbler. I hoped to catch sight of the bird to ensure it wasn’t one of those
pesky Northern Parulas. I never did see the bird, but it sang repeatedly the
classic Cerulean song.
So I’m telling myself it was a Cerulean!
