Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4 and 5, migrating warblers put on
quite a show for those who attended the TOS meeting in Nashville.

Saturday Chris Sloan refound in essentially the same location, the
immature female MOURNING WARBLER that I had first seen on Thursday.
Although a HOUSE WREN privided a bit of initial confusion, the
warbler was relatively cooperative and many birders got great looks
(including some life looks) at it. ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKs and
4 species of Vireos were also very cooperative. Both Chirs Sloan
and I commented on the very large total number of warblers, perhaps
the most either of us have ever seen on a fall day at Radnor Lake.

A smaller group of birders on Sunday retraced our Saturday walk.
There were still reasonably good numbers of warblers about and
to my surprise, the MOURNING WARBLER remained, once again providing
good views for those who made the trip. Several vireos including
2 PHILADELPHIAs were seen well.

It was great to meet some TN birders for the first time and to see
some of the faces behind the names found on Tn-bird!
