Just out of state, but...the Alabama Ornithological Society is hosting its
winter meeting at Joe Wheeler State Park January 25-27. On Saturday, we will
have a boat trip aboard Nautical Wheeler, cruising around Wheeler Dam, The
Point and Elk River/Spring Creek (if time allows). There is still space on
board for more birders. If you are interested, contact me directly by email

cost is $55/person for a 6 hour excursion. I doubt we will overfill the boat,
but if so, I will have to restrict participation to meeting registrants. You
