Below is a list of species banded between Sept 4 and Sept 15 at Whigg Meadow
Banding Station, Cherokee National Forest, Monroe Co. TN. Our capture rate
for the season is 68 birds/100 net hours.

Totals for species netted, individuals banded and birds/net hour were all
low this season. Perhaps migrations was delayed by hurricanes Frances and
Ivan. Though I have not yet evaluated ratio of young birds to adult birds,
my impression is that we encountered a significantly high percent of after
hatch year birds. Not sure if this indicates a poor breeding season or if
young birds passed before or after we were in operation. Will be interested
to see banding results from Big Bald and Carver's Gap.

Thanks again to all who helped and, to Cherokee National Forest for support
and permits.

Dave Vogt
Chattanooga, TN
