While working my territory for today's White County Spring Bird Count, I happened upon a White-winged Dove. Seems like an odd coincidence, given the fact that Bledsoe County enjoyed a similar find last week. It makes me wonder if the bird from Bledsoe (which no one has been able to relocate) somehow has migrated northwest into White County. Just a thought. Anyway, the bird was seen on Franks Ferry Road, 1.2 miles east of the intersection with Old Kentucky Road (SR 136) and 0.6 miles east of the Gum Springs Baptist Church. At the conclusion of our compilation dinner, I led Ed LeGrand, Dan Combs, and Steve Stedman back to the location of the find but they were unable to relocate the bird. A photo is attached for everyone's enjoyment. Doug Downs Sparta, White County, TN
