Around 8:00 this morning I was scanning through swallows at the lake along
Carters Creek Pk. when a group of shorebirds flew through my binocular view. 9
Willets circled the lake a couple of times before landing on the north shore.
As of 9:30 the birds had settled in with some Wood Ducks in a shallow area
across the lake from the parking pull off. Hopefully they will stick around for
the day. There is one other report of this species on eBird: from 1985.
Good birding!
