At Joachime Bible Refuge unit of Lick Creek Bottoms Wildlife Management Area (on South Mohawk Road in western Greene County) this afternoon, observed by Alice Loftin, Don Miller, and Linda Northrop: Willow Flycatcher, Dickcissel (at least 2). I have observed Dickcissels, an unusual species for northeast Tennessee, at this site for five consecutive years and assume them to be nesting. The Willow Flycatcher is more problematic. The only other summer observations I have for it in Greene County occurred on June 7 and 14, 1998, at the Lick Creek Bottoms WMA property on Foxgate Trail and on Highway 348 nearby. Nicholson's atlas of Tennessee breeding birds lists Willow Flycatcher as a possible nester in Greene County.
