Sumner County Portland, TN 4/26/08 Sitting in a wooded area behind my house I Saturday morning I observed a Wood Thrush apparently building a nest about 12' off the ground. A Black-throated Green Warbler and a Kentucky Warbler were heard and seen in the same area. Heard but not seen - Common Yellowthroats. On the feeders Saturday, FOS Rose-breasted Grosbeaks - male and female. Feeding in the un-mowed section of the backyard Saturday were two Blue Grosbeaks - one female and one first-year male and four Palm Warblers. FOS Baltimore Oriole in a Poplar tree and a FOS Orchard Oriole in a Maple tree by the creek. 4/27/08 Heard but not seen - FOS Yellow-breasted Chat.
