Hi, birders.

I guess there's a lack of available dirt in my suburban neighborhood. I just
watched a Carolina Wren work very hard to take a dirt bath at the base of my
potted jade tree on my small deck! It's only a 10 inch pot, with an available
"bathing" area of about 3 X 8. It turned on its side and scooted along the rim
of the pot, and then switched around and went the other direction.

The huge area of exposed soil where condos are being built some 300 yards away
must be too far out of the wren's territory. I'm glad!

Enjoy the weekend!
