Seymour, Sevier County
At-home birding: Carolina Wrens feeding young in birdhouse right next to our
kitchen window. I was sitting quietly on the porch reading when both birds came
in the area and scolded for several minutes. They kept hopping around from one
perch to another like they were looking for something. Finally, one flew off
and as I walked over to investigate, the other bird came up with food in its
beak and calmly waited until I moved away. They’re “tolerant” of us, but they
want us to know they’re in charge!
