On Tuesday evening a yellow-bellied Sapsucker was heard along the
Appalachian Trail less than 0.5 miles from the trail's crossing of US HWY
421 at the Sullivan and Johnson County Line. I search for possible nesting
cavities but did not see any. Both myself and Misty Hamed (my wife) heard
the bird.
