Same story just a different day. The cranes didn't leave Hiwassee refuge on Wednesday due to bad weather. It now looks as if their next best chance to continue the migration will be this coming Saturday. Does that sound familiar? I think that's where this thread began only it was Saturday a week ago. Joe Duff one of the pilots and Heather Ray were very gracious to the crowd today. They held an informal question and answer session for us lasting almost two hours. Thanks guys for taking the time to make us part of the migration! I looked for the infamous crane # 6 today but he hid very well. Last night he roosted on a sand bar on the Tennessee river and it really was only a stones throw away from the holding pen for this years 16 cranes. Most likely this will be my last post about the crane migration until Saturday. It's getting kinda old!
