Carol,
I've had six individual reports of Ivory-billed Woodpecker in Tennessee
since the Arkansas announcement and know of another dozen reports from
within the state that have gone to other biologists. None of these have
been substantiated, nor are they expected to be.

I have heard nothing of other documented sightings since the initial
report of what has been considered one bird in Arkansas. To my
knowledge, there were seven different individuals in that party that
have documented sightings the bird.

An elderly fellow who stops by my remote house to "check on me" stated
that
there had been several more ivory-billed woodpeckers found - in fact
said
there were seventeen of them. After checking around on the Internet and
finding nothing that corrobarates his story, I'm inclined to think he
made
it up to impress me, or the rumor mill around the country store in
MIfflin
has produced a new whopper. Has anyone heard this, or any more updates
on
new spottings? Surely they would let us all know since it would be the
second greatest news to hit the birding world in decades....
