At my backyard suet and sunflower seed feeders, I've had the usual residents
and winter birds. Of special. note, however, is the 2 pine warblers,2
yellow-rumps, red-breasted nuthatch, and the brown-headed nuthatch. The
red-breasted has been here every year with the exception of 1 or 2. The
brown-headed has been here the past 2 years---I had a report last year of 1 at
another birder's house across town. We both have mature pine woods. I believe
if I could get enough birders to observe and report in this area, we would have
more br-hd-nuthatches moved across from Chattanooga area.
My pine warblers and yellow-rumps all eat at both suet and seed feeders.
