I spent a couple of hours this morning at Duck River NWR and found many of the the same birds previously reported Just off Hwy 70 on Long Street, heading south toward the refuge, are 3 sewage ponds on the right which frequently hold waterfowl Today there were about 150 ducks present, mostly Ring-necks with 20 Redheads as well At the refuge proper, all 5 geese species were still present, and there also were an impressive number of N Pintails in various impoundments. There is a huge gull roost in the middle of Duck River which is at least a mile south of the refuge road. 3 A White Pelicans were lounging here at the limits of my optics!
