Members and guests of Memphis Chapter, TOS, enjoyed an exceptional day for birding (or anything else) at Shelby Forest State Park (nw Shelby County). 55 species were located by eight observers. Notable were high numbers of Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Eastern Wood-pewees, Northern Flickers, PhiladelphiaVireos and Red-headed Woodpeckers. Observers were Dick Preston,Carolyn Bullock, Van Harris, Lillian Durand, Kay Lait, Judy Dorsey, Pat Faudrey and Susan Davis.
