[TN-Bird] midnight message

Well, I guess I should not put messages on the bird line at midnight
anymore----lest some of you may think I'm finally "losing it", here's a step
by step account of yesterday's dove sightings.

I heard a call of what sounded like an Eurasian Collared Dove ( as I was
getting into my car)

I drove down an alley between Hogan and Grundy Sts, got out of car, put the
scope up on one lone bird in the top of a large tree next to Daves
Culbertson Funeral Home JUST as it was joined by another bird and they both
flew away.

After two more attempts--driving down the alley, putting up the scope, I
finally DID get an excellent sighting of two Eursian Collared Doves, sitting
on a power line, AND calling.

When I tried to follow them west down Grundy St , I could hear the calls
farther off, but had Rock Pigeons on a wire in one place, --not calling--
and Mourning Doves in another place---calling--hence the comment about
comparing the calls of the different species.

I hope that this clears up my "muddy message" at midnight, and doesn't just
muddy it up more.
