I went to see it in Memphis a couple of weeks ago, and there are a few
flaws (in my opinion) but overall, it is breathtaking. I had read all the
kudos about the photography, but I simply wasn't prepared for how
incredible...the backgrounds chosen for their stark, or lush beauty, or to
contrast or compliment the colors of the birds. I wanted to kiss the
cinematographers, even if they were French!
Don't miss it on the big screen. Details that were so memorable and may not
show up on the small screen were the breezes ruffling the fine feathers on
the birds heads. and wind pushing the pelicans' flexible skin on their
"fish pockets" below their beaks.
