My back deck in west Knox County has become a busy bird feeder and I don't have to stock it; the wild cherry tree has taken care of that. This afternoon while watching TV, I couldn't help but notice the birds hopping around on the deck to get at those little cherries: a beautiful male Towhee (not sure I've ever seen a Towhee on the deck before; they normally stay on the ground and in the thicket), a couple of Cardinals, a male House Finch and a juvenile Starling. The cat showed an interest too and the birds didn't seem to mind her watching them through the sliding glass door. Carole Gobert, Knoxville
