Tremont Great Smoky Mountains National Park Blount County, TN Hi Folks, After missing most of migration, I got lucky yesterday. While chatting with someone, our director Ken came in the room to report bird activity outside his window. We grabbed bins and went, but by the time we got out, the flock had moved. I decided to walk around a bit, and stumbled upon the same or a different flock. I found: Blue-winged Warbler - 1 Blackburnian Warbler - 1 or 2 Chestnut-sided Warbler - 2 or 3 Common Yellowthroat - 4 Bay-breasted Warbler - 1 Yellow-throated Warbler - 1 (isn't that late? Tennessee Warbler 3 or 4 Black-throated Blue Warbler 1 Scarlett Tanager - 3 or 4 Rose-breated Grosbeak 1 (after hearing so many the previous days) Gray Catbird - at least 6 or 7 Blue-headed Vireo - 1 Thrushes - 8 or 10. All I could ID were 2 Swainson's and one Wood. ******************************************************************* Charlie Muise, Naturalist in Great Smoky Mountains National Park "To the dull mind all nature is leaden.
