Hi folks, Haven't posted because I've not gotten to bird in the area in a while. 2 weeks in California makes it tough (sorry, had to brag!) and since I've been back I've been entering all that MAPS data and doing odonate work in the park. But Shane's post reminded me that I've seen Common Nighthawks each of the last 3 nights in Blount County. Tonight over the "Knoxville" airport (McGhee Tyson.) Last night over Maryville's new, huge town compound. Night before last at "the Split" of US 129 and SR 35. Just 2-3 each time. For those of you interested in odonates, the park list is now up to 90! Thanks to a Yellow-sided Skimmer that Keith Langdon caught and I photographed at Cataloochee (North Carolina side) on Sunday. That 90 consists of 64 dragonflies and 26 damselflies.
