17 Oct 2009, Knox Co I saw several Chimney Swifts throughout the day including 30-40 at Ball Camp Elementary at lunch. I decided to check it out again at dusk to see if there might be a repeat of last night's spectacle. Unfortunately, as expected, they seem to have moved on. I only had 7 swifts come to roost in the chimney. I had one Ruby-throated Hummingbird in the yard this morning. My latest date here other than one individual that stayed until 30 Oct a few years ago. The one today was more interested in the Pineapple Sage than the feeder. Hmm, maybe it needs cleaning. There was another good thrush movement overnight with Swainson's and Gray-cheeked heard passing overhead throughout last night. A few other migrants in the yard this morning including Black- throated Green and TN Warblers, Blue-headed Vireo, E Wood-Pewee.
