Ok, so I am guessing one of the address lines to the character ROM is
shorted, because it's repeating the top half of the character in the bottom
half.

Alright, 3 years ago I was starting to get into electronics and I went a
bit ahead of my skills ...
I bought a JiffyDOS chip from Jim and tried to install it myself on the
only C64C I had and of course I did (almost) kill it... I didn't have the
right tools or knowledge to unsolder properly. You have to make mistakes to
learn ! Hopefully, I got way better in the meantime :)
It's been in a box for all this time, but I really want it repaired. I
was told it might be a broken data line (see picture).
I would like to know if someone could look at it during WoC, and give me
a quick course on the repair at the same time ? or give me tips on how to
check the data lines.
NB: I rewired all the contacts underneath the rom chip to be sure.
