There are better small audio amps in DIP package than the LM386.
No big loss if this become no longer available.
I expect this will be available from China long after TI stops production.

Hi,

I'll be there for sure. Stopping at some of the electronics places in
scarborough on the way for some parts for some homebrew audio projects.
On a somewhat related note if anybodies building up anything using the
LM386 audio amp IC should pick some up on the next couple months while you can.
I've found out that TI has stopped production on the DIP (ie.
non surface mount) versions so what's on the market now is all thats left.
