"We're updating our Privacy Policy" ;-)
Just a quick note that FreeLists, the free email list service that powers
the TorontoCBM list, is making a few changes to be compliant with the
General Data Protection Regulation law from the European Union.
They are taking a phased approach, slightly different from other mailing
lists, the basic gist of it as follows (as I understand it):
1. New subscribers will need to take an extra step to express their consent
to be on this list (this is already in place)
2. When you make your next posting, you'll be asked to log in to express
your consent to stay subscribed.
3. After a while, anyone who hasn't posted will get an automated email
asking you to express consent to stay subscribed (to weed out any old
accounts etc).
Should be reasonably straight forward. Let me know if you have any

This list has grown from a little informal timesaver I put together for a
few friends back 10 years ago, into an excellent resource and community in
its own right. Thanks all! Make sure you respond to the new checks so we
don't lose you :-)
