This evening, I saw a 1st fall red breasted grosbeak in the yard around 6:00
p.m. It was very buffy on the breast. The most color I have ever seen on
this grosbeak. I wish I could say that I was able to determine if it had a
bi-colored beak but I could not so I have to assume it was a red breasted.
Also seen in the yard this evening:
Imm. or female scarlet tanager
Imm. Baltimore oriole
blue gray gnatcatcher
pewee
Peggy Lyons
Concord, Va.
Campbell County
