Hey all, guess the light rain showers kept the participation low at the monthly
bird walk this morning at Hoffler Creek Wildlife Preserve in Portsmouth, but I
had good looks at 2 juvenile Tricolored Herons in the upper end of the tidal
creek that borders the Preserve to the south, and walking the loop trail around
the Lake I was pleased to see even a few migrants: 1 Hooded Warbler and 2 Am.
Redstarts. Always a good place to see Yellow-crowned Night-Herons, I had at
least 5. 1 Spotted Sandpiper was the only shorebird, but not a lot of exposed
mud out there this morning. Best,
