While scouting for James Fox's Loggerhead Shrike today along Rockland Rd
(Shrike not found), we came upon a group of 8 Bald Eagles that were truly a
mixed group. They must have had a deer carcass in a wallow that we couldn't
see. All sat in trees, and all but 1 hung around for the 20 minutes we were
there.
Ages:
Adult - 1
3 yr old - 3
Juvenile - 4
All of the eagles tolerated each other quite well.
Also while there, we had 1 juvenile Northern Harrier working the bare
fields.
