Today I took my weekly trip to Chincoteague. I arrived at 1pm and enjoyed a
productive hawk watch from the top of the lighthouse. Birds seen from the
lighthouse are as follows,
Bald Eagle 2
Turkey Vulture 15
Black Vulture 19
Sharp shinned Hawk 2
Northern Harrier 1
Osprey 4
Red shouldered Hawk 2
Red - tailed Hawk 3
Merlin 2
Peregrine Falcon 3 ( one working the ducks at Snow Goose Pond )

after spending 2 hours at the light house I drove to the wildlife loop. When I
arrived at the White cheeked Pintail spot ( South west corner of Snow Goose
Pond ) I met up with the VSO's Fall field trip and soon after found the Pintail
dabbling away with the rest of the flock. I was able to take some great
pictures and video through my scope I stayed with the White-cheeked Pintail
from 3:30 to 7 PM. While watching this wonderful duck I was able to see the
legs and feet well and there was no sign of a leg band or cut hind toe.
