Our group of 14 spent time on the trail going east from the boat ramp (very
slow) and then in the parking lot (less slow) at Algonkian near the
pavilions. It was relative slow going and in total we only had 43 species.

Robin activity was relatively high and we had a good number of chimney
swifts fly over. Warblers found were Common Yellowthroat, Northern Parula,
Canada Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, and American Redstart. Many of the
views were from the parking lot area and the trail that cuts through near
the Watermine. Many were terrible backlit views under cloudy conditions
with the birds in the tops of tall trees...we left several birds
unidentified.
Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy regularly leads walks in Loudoun county. The
two regularly scheduled (free and open to anyone) are the 2nd Saturday of
the month walk at Banshee Reeks and the 4th Saturday of the month walk at
